CoPr: Core Practice

An essential part of making Core Practice public domain is stewardship of the IP, and effective feedback and contribution mechanisms.

To this end, we will establish an Institute of Core Practice as a not-for-profit public body to administer the Core Practice content.

The Institute will be responsible for

• Maintaining a central repository of the definitive Core Practice content
• Promoting the concept of Core Practice worldwide
• Assisting and encouraging local chapters of the Institute in any countries that show sufficient interest
• Evaluating and accepting contributions to the definitive Core Practice content
• Guiding strategy for the promotion, use and extension of Core Practice content
• Creating and administering examination and certification of professional qualifications in Core Practice
• Creating and administering examination and certification of vendor product compliance to the Core Practices
• Creating and administering assessment and certification of user organisational compliance to the Core Practices
• Maintaining a website (corepractice.org) as the primary public interface to the Institute
• Maintaining and approving a network of volunteer mentors from those users who have gained experience in the implementation and use of Core Practice

We hope to launch the IoCP as an entity with an initial committee by June 2006.
